KUCHING: ACP Ahsmon Bajah, 42, who hails from Kudat, Sabah, is now the new Kuching OCPD.

Sabah-born ACP Ahsmon is the new Kuching OCPD.

He officially took over duties from acting police chief Supt Merbin Lisa, who held the post for 18 days.

The handover of duties ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail on Friday (May 28) at the Kuching district police headquarters (IPD).

ACP Ahsmon, who joined the force on Nov 1, 2003, holds a Bachelor of Public Management and Master of Laws (Enforcement), and has held several positions in Kluang IPD, Kota Tinggi IPD and Muar IPD.

In his speech, he emphasised three main points during his tenure in Kuching, namely strengthening integrity among police personnel, strengthening the service delivery system and maintaining the wellbeing of the people.

Apart from that, there was also a handing over ceremony for the duties of Persatuan Keluarga Polis (Perkep) district chairperson.

Acting Perkep chairperson DSP Dayang Rahmah Awang Bolhan handed over duties to Emmy Suin, witnessed by Perkep Contingent chairwoman Raja Asaudat Raja Muda.
