Additional 100 staff for MACC hailed

KUALA LUMPUR: The addition of 100 staff for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in 2020 is hailed as a clear manifestation of the government’s commitment in fighting corruption.

MACC Chief Commissioner Latheefa Koya said the RM10 million allocation for the risk evaluation test for all ministries and government departments and agencies would also boost focus on the commission’s corruption prevention division.

“The MACC appreciates the government’s actions in combating corruption in this country,” she said when contacted yesterday.

In Budget 2020, tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng today, it, is said that the government would add 100 staff for the MACC next year and strengthen the Integrity Unit in all the ministries and government agencies. – Bernama
