MUKAH: This year’s All Souls’ Day (Nov 2) will be different due to the recovery movement control order (RMCO) amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Less people are expected to gather at cemeteries to pray for their loved ones who have passed on.

A source from St Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church Mukah Parochial Parish Council revealed that due to the pandemic, there would also be no cemetery blessings this year.

“However, the Catholic cemetery at Jalan Oya will be open, on the condition that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) are complied with,” the source said via a WhatsApp message.

New Sarawak Tribune today discovered that despite that, preparation for All Souls’ here went on as usual.

Christians still bought flowers and lit candles for the deceased.
