KUCHING: The Universiti Putra Malaysia Alumni Association (PAUPM) Sarawak is looking to improve the state’s food security with their resources and experience said association’s deputy chairman Datuk Sapuan Ahmad.

“We possess ample resources and even vast experience which is essential for bolstering food security.

“With a sufficient workforce, including farmers and various other elements in place, the pathway for development is clear.

“What is crucial now is rallying the support of farmers, alongside the collaboration of the state government, to realise these objectives,” he said.

He said this in a press conference at a hotel here today (Feb15).

On the association, Sapuan said there are many UPM alumni who are working in various sectors and some have entered retirement.

“Through this alumni association, we are hoping we can gather together to discuss what we can do to assist the state government on the development of Sarawak.

“Moreover, the aim of this association extends beyond mere representation it seeks to offer insights and perspectives drawn from our diverse experiences across multiple sectors,” he added.
