KUCHING: PKR vice-president who is also Ampang Member of Parliament Zuraida Kamaruddin has raised doubts over the veracity and authenticity of a viralled sex video that purportedly involved a federal minister and a PKR Sarawak official.
Claiming that the minister is a victim of political assassination, she was confident that the person who confessed to be the other person in the video as Santubong PKR youth chief, Haziq Abdullah Aziz, was dubious as he is known to be close to the Opposition.
“I wish to state my full confidence in the credibility, integrity and personality of the leader who is being slandered,” she said in a media statement yesterday afternoon.
She condemned such political conspiracy to assassinate the character of a highly placed politician should stop immediately.
She feared the dirty politicking could harm the nation’s progress.
“It could jeopardise the government’s efforts to make the nation’s economy recover,” she said.
Zuraida then urged the authorities to investigate the matter quickly so that the wrongdoers could be brought to justice and the names of those slandered cleared as soon as possible.
