Factory operator killed in tragic two-vehicle crash

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A factory operator died from severe injuries following a two-vehicle collision along KM16 Jalan Datuk Mohd Musaon here on Wednesday (Apr 24).
 
Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Jaimi Husin said that the accident, involving a Yamaha Lagenda motorcycle and a Proton Wira, happened around 4 pm at the traffic light intersection.
 
“The collision happened when the Proton Wira, travelling towards Kota Samarahan from Mile 8, collided with the motorcycle ridden by the 43-year-old victim, who was travelling towards Mile 7 from Kota Samarahan.
 
“As a result of the crash, the victim fell off his vehicle onto the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” he said.
 
His body was later taken to the hospital for further a post-mortem.
 
Meanwhile, the Wira driver, a 27-year-old student, emerged unscathed from the collision.
 
“The driver claimed that the traffic light on his lane was green at the time of the incident,” he said.
 
Jaimi said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
 
Earlier, an 11-second dashcam footage depicting the collision went viral on social media.
