Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has revealed his opposition to the proposal put forth by former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to ban UMNO after the 14th General Election.

According to a report in Berita Harian, Anwar disclosed that even prominent figures like DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and AMANAH president Mohamad Sabu also stood against the idea of banning UMNO.

Anwar disclosed this during the Jelajah Madani and Pelancaran Jentera Perpaduan Kedah programme in Kedah last night (July 15).

According to Anwar, despite being in opposition to UMNO at that time, he still did not agree with the idea of banning the party.
