KUCHING: The Kuching Hokkien Association has received 3,000 face masks from a director of a construction company from China who is currently working here.

Its deputy president Michael Teo said Ye Beng Ying of Fujian, China was concerned about the Covid-19 situation here and thus had helped by acquiring some face masks.

“The face masks will be distributed to our Hokkien members in Kuching,” Teo said in a statement yesterday.

He added that Ye was in charge of the Mazu God Temple building in Kampung Bako here, which is still under construction.

The temple project was initiated by the Kuching Hokkien Association and the association currently has 4,100 members.
