KUCHING: Audry Wan Ullok has succeeded Philip Yong as the new president of the Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF) for the 2018-2020 period.

Yong, who has served for two consecutive terms from 2014 to 2018, has stepped down as required by the federation’s constitution but was appointed as an honorary advisor to the board.

The new  board members were elected into office during its 15th annual assembly here.

Audry will be assisted by Fiona Marcus Raja as vice-president, Mohamad Ibrahim Nordin (honorary secretary general) and Eugene Hu (treasurer). Two others are Chua Juan Chuan (assistant honorary secretary general) and Edwin Lai (assistant treasurer).

Yong urged members to work alongside the  Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry, Sarawak Tourism Board, Sarawak Convention Bureau and other industry players to develop the tourism industry in Sarawak.

Audry, meanwhile, said STF would act as a bridge between the different tourism related associations in the private and public sectors.
