BAU: A total of RM120,000 has been allocated to residents of Kampung Stass for the implementation of two projects in the area.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the allocation was given by Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

Of the total, RM100,000 was allocated through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for upgrading works on the banks of Sungai Stass.

“Meanwhile, another RM20,000 is under the Minor Rural Projects (MRP),” he said.

Henry, who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman, was quoted as saying this when officiating at the Gawai Dayak 2022 celebration at Kampung Stass recently.

Meanwhile, he also pointed out that a border post between Kampung Stass and Kalimantan, Indonesia should be established immediately.

The aim is to create another place like Serikin to provide opportunities for the residents of Kampung Stass to improve their socio-economy, he added.
