MARUDI: Classes at a primary school in Baram area, SK Long Jegan,Tinjar, was cancelled on Tuesday after it was inundated by two-feet high floodwaters.
Meanwhile, school session remains as usual for pupils of SK Long Loyang, Tinjar, as the floodwaters have gradually receding.
Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) spokesperson said the area was hit by flood following heavy rainfall since November 25.
Other affected areas are Rumah Seliman Lepo, Kampung Long Jegan A; Long Jegan Health Clinic; and Long Loyang,Tinjar.
So far no evacuation centres are opened despite some of the low lying areas in Baram are inundated by floodwaters.
A team of APM personnel from Miri has been dispatched to these affected areas for flood monitoring.
