BAU: The district of Bau has unveiled its newest landmark, the Christ Is King statue, standing majestically at the entrance of Mount Singai.

Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep in a Facebook post on Friday (Dec 22) said the statue will be another iconic religious landmark Christians in the area.

“This statue will join the ranks of other prominent religious landmarks, including the well-established churches and facilities, halfway up the Singai mountain at Catholic Memorial Pilgrimage Centre (CMPC),” he said.

Earlier this year, Harry, following discussions with church elders and committee members, pledged to create a symbol marking the district as a crucial religious site.

The result of this commitment is evident in the majestic statue, strategically placed near the entrance of Mount Singai.

Furthermore, a holy mass prayer is scheduled at the compound’s entrance on January 1, 2024 at 10am.

Following the prayer, Archbishop Simon Poh will conduct a blessing ceremony for the newly erected Christ Is King statue.
