KUCHING: Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor was excited to spend time shopping for clothes with orphans from his constituency ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

In conjunction with the Saberkas Prihatin programme themed ‘Ceriakan Raya’, a total of 17 orphans from Beting Maro were given the opportunity to visit Kuching and shop for their ‘baju raya’.

“I am really excited and was waiting for their arrival around 11am together with officers at the service centre and Beting Maro Saberkas officer Mohd Shafizan Kipli.

“We arranged everything in advance with Kuching Boulevard Supermarket,” he said here on Thursday (April 28).

“I am grateful to Saberkas and the supermarket who supported this programme,” Razaili, who is also the Beting Maro Saberkas chairman, added.

Before leaving for home, the orphans were also given packed food from fast food restaurant KFC.

Razaili hoped that the new clothes, worth more than RM150 for each orphan, would bring festive joy to them.
