KUCHING: The Bidayuh Music Awards 2022 (BMA 2022) will be held next Monday (Dec 12) at Pullman Hotel here.

Organised by Bidayuh Artistes and Musicians Association Sarawak (BAMA), the awards aim to recognise the contributions of Bidayuh musicians in Sarawak’s music industry.

Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan said the awards were also to assist and promote Bidayuh artistes and musicians to the international stage.

“I can say that this event has its own uniqueness, as it is the only Bidayuh music awards in the world,” he said.

Snowdan said this at the press conference for the awards here on Tuesday (Dec 6).

He also revealed that a prominent music award, Dayak Music Award, is slated to make a comeback in future.

“I was asked by some members of the media to bring back the award and we will have this discussion sometime next year on a bigger scale.”
