BINTULU: The Bintulu International Marathon 2023 (BIM2023) is set to bring together avid runners, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts from around the world to experience the enchanting landscapes of Bintulu.
BIM2023 race director, Ngo Sie Haw said the marathon is one of Malaysia’s most prestigious long-distance races and will be held on Sunday, August 6.
“The organiser’s goal is to have 4,500 people participate in the event and will be extending its normal price for registration fee to July 30 after encouraging responses from the public,” he said in a statement.
Ngo announced another exciting news that the first 500 participants of Full Marathon and Half Marathon who have signed up for the BIM2023, Kuching Marathon 2023 (KM2023), and Miri Marathon 2024 (MM24) will be entitled to a special pre-event tee.
He said the race will feature four exciting categories, comprising the Full Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21km), 10km, and a 6km Fun Run, ensuring there is a challenge suitable for runners of all abilities.
Adding on, Ngo said registration fee for Full Marathon is RM140; Half Marathon is RM120; 10km is RM100 and 6 km is RM60.
“Runners for all categories will get a running shirt and finisher medal. As for the top 200 runners of a full marathon will receive a finisher shirt,” he added.
This event is jointly organised by the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), Resident’s Office, Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and Wynn Wynn Enterprise (WWE).
