KUCHING: Despite the heat on Sunday morning (Dec 27), many worshippers gathered at Lu Yi Pek Kong Temple at the Third Mile here to welcome a new deity.
The blessing ceremony was graced by Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
According to a representative of Sah Kong Martial Arts Organisation Kuching, a statue of the deity recently arrived at the temple but a proper welcoming and blessing ceremony had not been done.
“We are thankful that Datuk Seri Dr Sim is able to attend this welcoming ceremony,” she said.
Also present were Batu Kitang assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang and Batu Lintang MP, See Chee How.
