TANJUNG MANIS: The body of a man who fell into a river while fishing was found by villagers involved in an SAR operation not far from his boat at Sungai Getok Paloh, last Monday afternoon.
The deceased identified as Khairul Asri Mustapa, 38, was found at 4pm by villagers involved in the SAR operation.
Sarikei District Police chief, Superintendent Mat Jusoh Mohamad said the body was found at Sungai Getuk Paloh near the victim’s boat.
“An SAR team comprising the police, BOMBA, APM, and villagers was immediately formed following a report lodged at 1.17pm. The body was found about three hours later,” he said, adding that the body has been taken to Sarikei Hospital for a post mortem.
