MIRI: The entitlement of RM500 bonus announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for federal government civil servants recently is only for those serving within Sarawak.
“We are not extending it (the bonus) to Sarawakians working or serving outside of Sarawak,” he said when met by reporters after the launching of the state-level Youth Day 2019 here yesterday.
The bonus, which will be disbursed in June next year, was announced by Abang Johari earlier this month.
There are about 95,000 federal civil servants in Sarawak who are serving as teachers, medical officers and police personnel.
The bonus involved an allocation of RM4.5 million.
