Mohd Farid is still missing.

MARUDI: Nearly 30 search and rescue (SAR) personnel from various agencies including the Marudi Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) were involved in the second day of the operation today.

The SAR operation which began at 6.20am focused on three locations in their search for 16-year-old Mohd Farid Adenan.

The three areas were Kampung Narum, Lubuk Naga and the ferry wharf.

Miri Zone 6 fire chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said the search area yesterday covered an 18km-radius from the scene where the victim fell and was swept away by strong currents.

Mohd Farid had reportedly fallen off the wharf in front of SK Dato Sharif Hamid Marudi in Kampung Narum on May 28 around 3.30pm while fishing with three friends.

As at press time, the SAR was still on-going.
