KUCHING: Bakers all across the city are currently hard at work showcasing their respective delicacies, which include cookies and various types especially during the Christmas season.
Proprietor of C Salt Patisserie cafe Kelly Sim said that at the moment, C Salt is selling Christmas log cake, which is a Yule log cake that is cleverly shaped and decorated to look like a 3D log.
“We are also selling Christmas cupcakes and snow globe cakes, and all these are up for pre-order.
“We do not have the stock ready for now, we accept the order and we bake it as fresh as it is,” she said.
When asked what are some of the delicacies that have been sold the most, Kelly stated that just like last year, her Christmas log cakes had been seling like hot cakes literally.
“For log cake, it would be RM45 per log, snow globe cake would be RM29, cupcakes would be RM35.
“The Christmas cookies would be RM35 per set and we also have other cookies such as almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, one set is RM 27,” she said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune.
Meanwhile retail manager of The Ginger Bread House Rachel Chin stated that the outlet is selling the Christmas’s themed royal icing cookies, alongside Christmas log cakes.
“Besides Christmas log cakes, we also sell Christmas cupcakes,” she said.
Rachel then stated the Christmas cookies fetch RM7 per piece.
“We do have a promotion, such as you buy 20 pieces, you get two pieces for free.
“Or you can buy three, four, five or six pieces, you would get a gift box,” she said.
She then added the bakery’s Christmas cookies are the ones sold the most and popular among the customers.
At the Aloha Delicatessen Bakery, owner Goh revealed that his bakery is selling the gingerbread house cookies, Christmas rock cookies and ginger biscuits.
“We are also selling the shortbread and also chips button,” he said.
Goh added that the price range of his gingerbread house is RM80 and his Christmas log cake is RM 60, depending on the size of the log.
“The delicacies that have been sold the most for me would be the gingerbread house, and the gingerbread cookies as it is the most popular among the customers,” he added.
