KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has raised the question of whether Pakatan Harapan (PH) can fulfill its promises to Sarawak as contained in its 15th general election (GE15) manifesto.

“I ask you, can you trust (PH) after what happened in the past 22 months when PH helmed the government?”

Abang Johari was fielding questions by reporters on the recently announced four promises to Sarawak by PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim if the coalition wins the GE15 during a press conference today.

On the issue of PH open to working with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) should it wins the GE15, Abang Johari, who is also GPS chairman said this will be looked at after the general election.

“Contest first, only then we will know (the results of the election). If not contesting, how would we know,” he said.

On the ‘GPS Menang, Zahid Senang’ election campaign poster, Abang Johari said, “Gine Zahid pande senang, patut Abang Jo senang” (How can UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is at ease, it should be Abang Johari who is at ease) after winning the election,” he said.

The Premier reiterated that this election was important in order to have a strong representation from Sarawak, particularly GPS in Parliament, to defend the state’s rights.

“We contest in 31 parliamentary seats in the state, and we hope to ‘sapu’ (win) all, and send our parliamentarians to Putrajaya because this is our struggle.

“I don’t want Putrajaya to take (Sarawak) for granted. Now, people are talking about (GPS) being the kingmaker or stabiliser.

“Of course, we will only work with a prime minister who is fair to Sarawak. I say this clearly,” said Abang Johari.
