City Hall cordons off site of pigeon deaths

KUCHING: In ensuring the safety of the public, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has placed
safety tapes around the area where 40 pigeons were found dead at the Kuching Waterfront.

According to a press release issued by the director of DBKU Mohamed Khaidir Abang today, it was also to ensure that the area is not accessed by the public.

“The Kuching North City Hall views such matters seriously and is currently investigating the incident.

“Therefore, the public is urged to cooperate with us in combating unhealthy activities, such as illegal hunting and others, for the well-being of everyone,” he said.

On Wednesday, a video went viral where a member of the public, Wan Sabrini, went live on Facebook, showing members of the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) taking samples on a few dead pigeons for laboratory analysis.
