SIBU: The new members of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tamin branch have been urged to give full support to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.

Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Tamin branch youth chief Councillor Henry Kanyan Vincent Rawing said they should support the four component parties of GPS, namely PBB, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and Sarawak United Peoples’Party (SUPP).

“We thanked the new members who were from the opposition party (Parti Sarawak Bersatu) for finally opening their hearts to join PBB.

“We hope they prove their support for GPS in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) and the state election,” he said in a press statement, recently.

He also reminded the members not to ruin the good relationship between PRS and PBB.

“I believe they have matured in politics, the party and their participation in PBB will strengthen PRS in the upcoming GE15.

“I also want to remind PBB to always be careful and not to be easily manipulated by certain groups for political gain,” he told.

When asked if their actions had an impact because before they were former PRS or PSB members and now wanted to join PBB, he said in PRS there are no privileges for those who have betrayed the party.

“In PRS we only need those who are truly loyal, honest and agree to the party’s decision. This means that those who are in PRS are those who truly understand the party and people centric.

“Any of those who have left the party, resigned, been fired and so on, they want to join any party, that is up to them and that is their personal right.

“But it must be remembered that there is no place in PRS for those who have betrayed the party. PRS only progresses when the vision and mission are shared by loyal party members. Those who are disloyal, they will still have problems everywhere,” he stressed.

For PRS Tamin, he said, there is no objection to any of those who want to join the party because it is a personal right.

“As a member of the GPS party component, I believe they will also support the PRS candidates who are elected in the upcoming GE15,” he said.

Earlier in a news report, it was reported a total of 160 former PSB members had joined PBB Tamin Branch as new recruits in Selangau.
