KUCHING: tHe Spring’s shopping mall is organising a Korean-inspired campaign, Annyeong Ku-Chingu, to celebrate Korean culture from Aug 25 to Oct 1.

The moniker of the Annyeong Ku-Chingu creatively intertwines the essence of camaraderie by ingeniously fusing the Korean greeting ‘Hello, Kuching Friends’.

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian commended tHe Spring effort in organising the campaign as it is very timely as now Kuching is experiencing an increase in investment from Korean investors.

“The investment coming in from Korea is especially in green energy and renewable energy, which we aim to mitigate with climate change happening today.

“I also would like to congratulate tHe Spring for having this vision as Koreans start coming in big way. The Ta Kiong supermarket also offers varieties of Korean snacks and beverages not only for people from Korea but also for us here who are also Korean food lovers,” he said during the launching of Annyeong Ku-chingu at tHe Spring here today (Aug 26).

He also said that the shopping mall is giving people a head start on exploring and experiencing the colourful celebration of Korean culture.

Meanwhile, according to a press release by tHe Spring, the heart and soul of Annyeong Ku-Chingu is to whisk shoppers away on a delightfully unconventional shopping journey and to nudge them to round up their buddies and loved ones to dive into the vibrant world of Korean culture with a big, cheerful smile.

Shoppers can embark on a flavour-packed adventure as they make their way to the Spring’s South Court, where they can discover the Chingu Bazaar.

tHe Spring teamed up with Ta Kiong supermarket to bring shoppers a bite-sized Korean Market at the Chingu Bazaar that offers a variety of irresistible, popular snacks, the coolest sips, and slurp-worthy instant noodles with amazing deals.

Beyond the tasty treats at the Chingu Bazaar, shoppers can discover an array of delectable Korean finger food, trendy Korean accessories, exciting Korean tour packages to fuel their wanderlust, and even a special spot for the little craft enthusiasts where kids can unleash their artistic talents at Creation Space.

A shopping spree at tHe Spring comes with a side of fabulous rewards during the thrilling Annyeong Ku-chingu extravaganza, which starts Aug 31 onwards. Shoppers are in for a treat as they immerse themselves in the excitement of tHe Spring’s lucky draw, aptly named “Seoul Lucky.”

There is an array of main prizes up for grabs, which include VIP tickets to catch K-Pop sensations Taeyang or CL onstage at the Borneo Sonic Music Festival (BSMF) and chic travel luggage that screams adventure.

To celebrate the traditional Korean holiday of bountiful harvest, Chuseok, the Chingu Bazaar at the South Court undergoes a delightful transformation into a charming Chuseok Bazaar from Sept 8 to Oct 1 where shoppers can discover a tantalising array of mooncakes that will leave their taste buds moonstruck.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, as the Annyeong Ku-Chingu event promises an enthralling lineup of both modern and traditional Korean dances, an artful blend that will leave shoppers mesmerised.
