SRI AMAN: Avoid spreading fake news as this may lead to conflict, said Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
The advice was given during the closing of “Staying Safe Online Campaign 2019” at the Seri Simanggang Hotel here yesterday.

He also listed out some guidelines for Internet users so that they would not be involved in cybercrime manipulation syndicates. He said, “The use of Internet and online services have make room for those who take advantage to do crime. For instance, love scams, macau scams and employment scams leading to human trafficking.

“If the online services are used in a proper way instead, we can expand today’s business trends and generate
revenue.”

The event was organised by Ministry of International Trade and eCommerce (MITeC) under the leadership of the organising chairman Geoffrey Baja Ricky Maba.

Around 150 attendees participated in the one-day roadshow.
