SAMARAHAN: An elderly van driver fractured his left leg while his passenger suffered minor injuries in a road accident at Kota Samarahan on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place at around 2.15pm while the victims were heading to Kuching when the van they were travelling in suddenly went out of control and crashed into a lamp post at the roadside.
A team of firefighters rushed to the scene to assist the victims after they received a distress call from the public.
The 73-year-old man was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Heart Centre for treatment and was later referred to the SGH for further treatment.
