Finisher medal in the shape of a duck’s paw will be given to runners who finish within the cut off time in this October’s Animazing Race.
In the 5th instalment of SSPCA’s annual Animazing Race, finishers will receive a duck paw shaped medal. Previous years’ race saw different animal-shaped medals such as Cat paws and the endangered Orang Utan and Sunbear paws.
The Animazing Race, which will happen on 8th October at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, is a fund-raising and awareness event held every year by the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) for pet animals, pet lovers and everyone alike.
The event is expected to attract 1,200 participants who will be running a new route through Isthmus and Sejingkat. All proceeds go towards the daily needs of the SSPCA shelter in Kota Sentosa.
The run is divided into 5km Men and Women Open, 10km Men and Women Open and 10km Men and Women Veteran.
A special category, the Wiggle Waggle Walk, where pet animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits and turtles can walk together with their owners, has been cancelled due to the recent rabies outbreak.
There will also be attractive prizes for Top 10 finishers in every category.
In addition, for the first time in Animazing Race history, runners who can’t make it on the actual day can opt for a ‘virtual run’, where they screenshot their running record from wherever they are and submit it to SSPCA via email.
Registrations are now open via animazingrace.com or from any Lea Sports Centre in town.
Fees range from RM60/RM70 plus an additional RM10/RM15 for virtual runners. Race pack collection will be held on 29th and 30th September.
