KUCHING: Police have arrested two riders for reckless and dangerous riding in an operation dubbed “Ops Samseng Jalanan” at Jalan FAC Matang.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the operation took place from 10pm on Thursday until 2.30am early this morning.
In the operation manned by Padawan traffic police team, the duo aged 21 and 16, were arrested after they were spotted riding their motorcycles recklessly and dangerously.
Both were seen performing dangerous stunts such as ‘wheelie’ and ‘superman’, which can endanger themselves as well as other road users.
For such actions, the police team brought both riders to the police station for further actions under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Aidil said in the same operation, the team issued a total of 15 traffic summonses for various traffic offences.
