MIRI: A woman and her male friend were detained by the Miri Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) with 0.50 grammes of syabu in the room of a budget hotel in Jalan Nahkoda Gampar here, yesterday.
Both suspects, aged 30, were picked up from the room during an operation conducted at 9.40am.
During a check conducted inside the room, police found a handbag which was placed on the bed of the room which contained what was suspected to be syabu.
They both have been brought to the Miri NCID office for urine tests and both tested positive for methamphetamine.
The pair have no previous drug-related offences.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
