KUCHING: An e-waste campaign will be held at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua No. 5 here on May 28 and May 29.

This was revealed by the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch in a press statement yesterday.

The campaign will be organised by Malaysian Red Crescent SJK Chung Hua No 5 as its first e-waste activity.

It is to collect old and obsolete electronic scraps such as computers, printers, and computer-related products, cell phones, cables and wires, li-ion batteries, kitchen electronic appliances, television from the general public.

It will run from 8 am until 5 pm at the school premises.

“The objective of this activity is to provide a better environment for the public to safely dispose of their electronic waste. Besides, members of the public can also donate unused clothing.

“Proceeds from the sales of e-waste collection and unused clothing will be donated to charity,” added the statement.
