KUCHING: Education fair will provide Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers with a better grasp of the courses they will be taking.

Padungan assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen made the point that youngsters needed to take courses at the higher education level to better prepare them for the workforce.

“The Stampin Service Centre had allocated a fund for this purpose (education fair).

“We appreciate the association’s efforts in organising and bringing together private universities and colleges for the event.

“This in turn, will give SPM leavers a variety of choices and a greater grasp of the courses offered by these higher learning institutions,” he said at a press conference at the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak Headquarters here, today.

Elaborating further, Chong said the fair will be held on June 26 from 10am to 5pm at the Boulevard Shopping Mall (New Wing).

In this regard, he hoped that school leavers would attend the event and have a better understanding of the many courses available to them.
