DALAT: Prevention is better than cure, advises Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

“This is especially for the elderly. These people need to focus on their health.

“This group also needs to be present when they have a health appointment at a hospital or clinic,” she said.

She said this when speaking at the Healthy Malaysia National Agenda Travel Programme of the Dalat District, Mukah Division, at the Dalat Unity Stadium, here, today.

Commenting on this programme, Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman,  praised its organisation and thus encouraged cooperation between the Health Department and the local community.

At the same time, it enhances awareness about health to the community.

As such, she said, Sarawak is expected to become an ageing state by 2028 and thus the health aspect is being taken very seriously.

“Many diseases can be avoided at an early stage if we pay attention to the concept that prevention is better than treatment.
