KUCHING: A fire at Sin Hin Cheong, Kota Sentosa Commercial Centre here, yesterday evening resulted in a 60 per cent loss to a shop specialising in electrical equipment.
Fortunately, despite the severity of the incident reported at 6.25 pm, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) confirmed there were no fatalities.
According to reports, a team comprising the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station, aided by the Tabuan Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, was promptly mobilised to the scene after being alerted at 6.29 pm.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that 60 per cent of the ground floor of the three-story shop had already been razed.
The fire was brought under control by 7.48 pm.
