KUCHING: The recent celebrations of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Gawai Dayak have beautifully demonstrated the deep appreciation Sarawakians have for one another’s presence.

According to political observer Datuk Peter Minos, there is nothing quite like the unity that exists among the people of Sarawak, who live and interact harmoniously with one another.

He also said that the tradition of hosting open houses and visiting one another is so ingrained in Sarawakian culture that it has become a norm.

“Festivities bring together individuals of different races and religions, fostering a sense of unity and harmony among Sarawakians,” Minos said in a press release today (June 3).

He went on to highlight how Sarawakians embrace and value one another, as evidenced by their warm reception of visitors during the previous Bung Bratak Day.

“Sarawak exemplifies genuine unity and harmony among its people, unlike artificial displays found in other parts of Malaysia,” added Minos, who also serves as the chairman of the Bung Bratak Heritage Association (BBHA).
