ALL Sarawak civil servants as well as at statutory bodies and local authorities will receive a special financial assistance equivalent to two months’ salary by the end of this year to recognise their contribution and commitment in their duties and responsibilities.

In announcing this, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state government would also give a bonus of RM600 to some 130,000 federal civil servants based in the state.

“The Sarawak government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) greatly appreciates the contribution of Sarawak’s civil servants in carrying out their mandate and shouldering their responsibilities with full trust for the well-being of the people.

“The payment of this assistance will be made before the end of 2023. It is estimated that a total of 28,000 Sarawak civil servants will receive this assistance involving estimated expenses of RM172 million,” he said in his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today.
