BAU: A family of five was made homeless when a fire destroyed their house at Jalan Jugan Buso, here on Tuesday.
The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call on the incident at 3.46pm and immediately despatched a team of Bau firefighters to the scene.
The 20×35 square feet house and a motorcycle were destroyed in the fire, upon firemen’s arrival.
According to operation commander PKPGB Tawang Lingem, an elderly couple sustained bodily injuries.
“Both victims received early treatments by the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) unit before they were taken to Bau Hospital for further actions,” he said in a statement.
Tawang added that the fire was extinguished at 4.05pm.
The cause of the fire and estimated loss of property are yet to be determined.
