KUCHING: Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah is confident Sarawak will achieve sustainable high social wellbeing, equity, inclusivity, and a dignified existence for all.

She is hopeful that the objective can be achieved through her ministry’s various programmes.

Fatimah said that she would like to see that the whole range of government initiatives would reach the optimal number of Sarawakians through intensive digitalisation of government services under iSarawakCare.

“These initiatives include the Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS), Maternity Assistance (BIB), Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), Early Childhood Institution Special Annual Grants, Special Aid for Kidney Patients, Health Treatment Assistance, and Death Compassionate Assistance.

“Other than that, is the various assistance for the disadvantaged and the needy through the Social Welfare Department and the 11 focus areas of the Sarawak Social Development Council,” she said in a statement today (Dec 20).

Fatimah hoped that her ministry’s ongoing effort in advocating laws affecting women, children and people with disabilities, empowering women through entrepreneurship and leadership will achieve the desired target.

“On pre-school education, apart from focusing on access, quality and equity,

it is my hope that all early childhood education institutions in Sarawak will implement programmes that will contribute to character building, unity and solidarity,” she said.
