KUCHING: A total of RM1.47 million has been distributed for Minor Rural Projects (MRP) as of July this year in the Tupong constituency.

This is to ensure the welfare of residents, according to its assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman who is also the Premier’s Chief Political Secretary.

Fazzrudin emphasised his commitment to ensuring the allocated funds from the Sarawak government benefit the people in the constituency.

“The constituency of Tupong consists of 82 smaller areas, and we make up the third largest voter count in Sarawak.

“With 31 schools, 51 prayer halls and mosques and numerous community organisations, we have to make sure the MRP funds given to us by the government is properly allocated in a way that no area is marginalised.

“Thus, we need to work together to ensure these allocations can take care of the welfare of the people of the constituency,” he said during a grant presentation ceremony at Kampung Pinang Jawa Multipurpose Hall here Saturday (Aug 12).
