MIRI: The Federation of Miri Division Chinese Association (FCA) and the Miri City Council (MCC) have joined forces to organise this year’s Chap Goh Meh celebration.

The aim of this collaboration is to bring the community together and create a memorable event that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese tradition.

The celebration, scheduled for Saturday (Feb 24) at Taman Bulatan Miri from 6.30pm, will feature traditional performances and interactive activities for attendees to enjoy.

FCA president Datuk David Goh, who is also the event’s co-chairman, expressed during a press conference on Tuesday (Feb 20) that the collaboration with MCC exemplifies the spirit of teamwork and dedication to preserving and celebrating important cultural festivities.

He noted the significance of the Chap Goh Meh celebration, also known as the Lantern Festival, as it marks the end of the Chinese New Year festivities.

“It is a time for families and friends to come together, enjoy cultural performances, highlighting the importance of unity and harmony.
