Ferry terminals extends operating hours on Apr 5-14

MUKAH: Three ferries will be operating at the ferry terminals of Kuala Igan, Muara Lassa and Batang Paloh starting from April 5 to 14.

Public Works Department (PWD) announced that the inclusion of these additional ferries was to facilitate a smooth travelling for the public for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivity.

“For Ferry 1 at Kuala Igan, it will operate from 4am to 12am (midnight). Meanwhile, Ferries 2 and 3 will operate from 6am until to 12am (midnight).

“For Ferries 1, 2 and 3 at Muara Lassa and Batang Paloh, the operating hours are from 6am to 12am (midnight),” according to PWD press statement.

PWD alluded with the addition of ferries and the extension of operating hours, it is hoped traffic congestion will be reduced, hence enhancing safety, shorten waiting times, and eases the well-being of ferry users.

“Therefore, ferry users are advised to be prepared and plan their travel time accordingly to avoid any inconvenience or difficulties during the ferry operating hours.

“In addition, ferry users and passengers must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) and follow the instructions of the ferry crew for everyone’s safety.

“At the same time, ferry users are advised to be patience and maintain cleanliness in the ferry area,” it added.
