MIRI: A fire drill took place at Miri Hospital yesterday morning.

The drill kicked off at 8.30am after a ‘fire’ reportedly broke out inside the hospital’s pharmacy.

Two hospital personnel were ‘rescued’ in the incident.

A team of firemen from Lopeng fire station arrived at the scene at 8.55am after being alerted about the ‘fire’.

Their swift action managed to contain the ‘fire’ from spreading to nearby building.

“During the drill, those in the pharmaceutical and dietetics departments were evacuated,” said Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong in a press statement.

The drill ended at 9.10am.
