The first incident occurred early today at an uninhabited residence located at Wishesland Piasau Camp Beach Road.

The fire, which engulfed a single-story permanent empty house measuring approximately 40×25 feet, was contained by 2.30 am, with 90 per cent of the structure consumed by the flames.

The firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further, and overhaul work ensured no lingering sources of ignition. The operation ended at 2:43 am, with no reported casualties.

In a separate incident, a two-storey semi-permanent residence at Cinema Road, Kanowit, was razed by fire at 8.49 am. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Firefighters deployed one hose stream and two water source nozzles from nearby pump units to bring the blaze under control by 9.30 am. Efforts to fully extinguish the remaining fire sources continued, with the operation concluded by 10.10 am.
