MIRI: A body was found floating in Kuala Baram river today (Apr 21).
The discovery occurred around 3 pm when local fishermen, engaged in their daily activities along the river, came across the lifeless body of a person, presumed to be a male.
Upon finding the body, the fishermen immediately contacted Senadin assemblyman, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, to report the tragic find.
Lee quickly informed the Bomba Lutong and the police, prompting them to respond to the scene.
The deceased is suspected to be the 18-year-old teenager reported missing since March 4, after he reportedly slipped and fell into the water while bathing near Kian Juan Dockyard on Jalan Kuala Baram.
Authorities are currently working to confirm the identity of the deceased, with initial evidence linking the body to the missing teenager’s case.
