KUCHING: Four families in Jalan Tanah Perkuburan Islam, Kampung Buntal have been evacuated to a safe area after water level rose to waist deep.
According to a statement by the Civil Defence Force (APM), seven children and seven adults from the four families were evacuated at around 5.30 pm on Saturday (March 11).
The APM team evacuated 14 flood victims, three men, two women, two older women with disabilities and seven boys.
Flood waters have risen to waist level at the affected houses in Kampung Buntal.
However, the main road was not inundated by waters and that made it easier for rescuers to reach the victims.
Kampung Buntal is among the several areas that were inundated by flood waters following continuous downpour since Friday night.
