Four injured in car-trailer collision

SARATOK: Four members of a family sustained injuries after their car was involved in a collision with an oil palm trailer at Jalan Saratok-Roban last Saturday (Nov 28).

The State Fire Department operations centre received a distress call on the incident around 4.10pm and despatched firemen from Saratok fire station to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the vehicles believed to be travelling from opposite directions, were damaged in the middle of the road.

Investigations found that the cause of the incident was due to an oil spill on the road.

The four injured family members were extricated from their car by members of the public before firemen arrived. Meanwhile, the trailer driver was unharmed in the collision.

The victims aged 6 to 40, were later handed over to paramedics for early treatment and sent to Saratok Hospital for further treatment.

Firemen cleansed the road of the oil spill after ensuring that all the victims had been safely evacuated.
