KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will soon launch free zumba classes for residents at People’s Housing Project (PPR) around the Klang Valley, especially to mothers, in efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle among them.

Its minister Hannah Yeoh said the classes organised by KBS will be held every weekend to allow them to have leisure and exciting breaks after a whole week of working as well as taking care of their family.

“A lot of mothers are busy working and they are not exercising, they are caregivers. This is one of the ways that we can do to prevent people from falling sick,” Hannah told senior reporters during the Concorde Club meeting, here yesterday.

According to Hannah, all mothers residing at the PPR will be able to participate as the classes will be held only in its inner area.

“We provide free zumba for anyone but focusing on the mothers as they are looking after their children and will not be able to travel far to exercise and the structure of their houses doesn’t have fields,” she said.
