In GE14, Jugah won the seat as an Independent candidate and later joined PKR, but he quit the party in 2020, because he was disappointed with the internal problems that plagued Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He then expressed support for the PN government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the time.

Last year, he had submitted application to return to Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), the party he had joined before contesting as an Independent candidate in the 14th General Election (GE14). However, he has not received any reply.
