TANJUNG MANIS: Prizes worth RM10,000 are up for grabs in a fishing competition to be held on Jan 6.
This 1st Series Grand Prix recreational event will see the champions walk away with RM5,000, first and second runners-up, RM2,000 and RM1,000, respectively.
Organised by Iftitah Restaurant & Resort, the competition called “GP Mesai Latik Iftitah 2019” is also open to anglers from outside this area.
According to its organising chairman, Ibnee Ekni, they would also come up with consolation prizes of RM100 each for ten participants.

He added that the staging of the competition is an initiative to develop fishing sports at Belawai Beach and thus provide opportunities for enterprising locals to earn some income.
“Apart from that, the event is meant to foster closer rapport among the residents of Belawai and visitors to the area. Other side activities are karaoke competition and a colouring contest,” said Ibnee.
