Taib presents the best male reciter prize to Hadi.

BINTULU: Hadi Mohd Sharkawi and Nur Syakura Mohamad Musa, both representing Kuching, emerged champions in the Qari (male reciter) and Qariah (female reciter) categories of the 62nd state-level Al-Quran recitation and memorisation ceremony at the Bintulu Auditorium here last night (March 18).
 
Each of them received a cash prize of RM10,000, a challenged trophy, an accompanying trophy, an accompanying prize, a certificate, and an Umrah package.
 
The Qari and Qariah champions will represent Sarawak at the national level, which is scheduled to take place in June in Penang.
 
The second and third place winners in the Qari category went to Muhammad Hafiez Shafie from Samarahan and Ahmad Mukhlis Yahya from Sarikei, respectively.

Raghad presents the best female reciter prize to Nur Syakura.

In the Qariah category, a reciter from Mukah Roziah Ayub won second place, while third place went to Farraliza Mohamad Musa from Miri.
 
The second runners-up in both categories received RM7,000 in cash along with a trophy, an accompanying prize, and a certificate, while the third runners-up took home a cash prize of RM5,000, a trophy, an accompanying prize, and a certificate.
 
Meanwhile, Muhammad Najdat Arsyad Madzalan Abdul Rahman from Bintulu Tahfiz Institution was announced as the hafazan (memorisation) champion for the 1-10 ‘Juzuk’ category in the men’s category.
 
The second and third places went to Muhammad Nasrat Anas Madzalan Abdul Rahman, also from Bintulu Tahfiz Institution, and Ariq Mustaqim Wan Bujang from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Haji Othman Abd Wahab (SMKA Shoaw), respectively.
 
In the female category, the first place was won by Siti Asma’ Adenan from SMKA Putra Jaya, while Nur Qaseh Batrisyia Rachman from SMKA Shoaw and Nur Saidatul Hanisah Saleman from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) secured second and third places, respectively.
 
In the 1-20 ‘Juzuk’ category, the first place for the men’s category went to Mohamad Khairunnaim Khalid from SMKA Shoaw, while the second place went to Mohd Ikhwan Abdul Rahman from Maahad Tahfiz Jitra Kedah.

In the female’s category, Nurul Izzah Mukhali from International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA) emerged champion, while the second and third places went to Nurul Izzah Yussof from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Aisyah Yussof from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, respectively.
 
In the memorisation event, the winners of the 1-10 ‘Juzuk’ category received RM3,000, a trophy, and a certificate, while the winners of the 1-20 ‘Juzuk’ category received RM4,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
 
The prizes were presented by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib.
