HANOI: The Hanoi Department of Tourism has unveiled plans to organise a series of night-time tourism activities in an effort to unlock the potential of the night-time economy and attract more visitors to the capital city of Vietnam .

The department disclosed this information during a conference held on Aug 2, which aimed to gather insights from experts regarding night-time tourism products, Vietnam News Agency reported.

“Hanoi has already established successful night-time tourism products, including captivating night tours of prominent attractions like Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoa Lo Prison relic site, Vietnam Literature Museum and various night pedestrian streets,” it reported.

While these tours have offered unique experiences to visitors and added distinctive features to Hanoi’s tourism, they have also exposed certain shortcomings, such as inefficiently operated pedestrian streets and a limited range of available products.

Therefore, the development of night-time tourism products will be approached with careful consideration to ensure their professionalism.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Travel Association, Phung Quang Thang emphasised the importance of multiple sectors and public participation in tourism activities within the night-time economy.
